Here is our beach fort, it was pretty great, plenty of shade, which I took full advantage of. Also used my beach umbrella bag which worked great!
Me, under the umbrella, big floppy hat, sunglasses and SPF 50! I'm not getting burnt!
Best beach game ever, "Kubb". Google it. You set up wooden blocks and have to knock them down w/ wooden dowels. Everyone that walked by stopped to watch for a while, since most people have never seen this game before.
Pool pong. Harder than you would think. Andrew improvised a speed version which worked out pretty well. Having a pool was actually really cool. You would think it is superfluous, but we really enjoyed having another place to relax and cool off. The ocean was a little rough the first part of the week then filled w/ jellyfish the last few days.

Oh man, I loved your beach fort! I'm always jealous of the people with those. Here's the thing I don't understand, though: how did we EVER last for hours upon hours in the direct sunlight? We never got under the umbrellas ever for TWO WEEKS STRAIGHT and now I can't stand to be in the sun for more than 20 minutes at a time. Are we that old already?!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean! I spent pretty much every second in the shade. I used to LOVE to be right in the sun. Now I'm starting to feel the effect of the sun that I never felt 10 years ago, so it's the shade for me now. And, it's just so HOT in the sun, the shade is much more comfortable.
