So I hate when you are not allowed to do your job

I have to go in to work tomorrow [my day off] just to sit around and wait for my boss's boss's, boss to tell me whether or not I'm allowed to tell this developer that no, he can't get $1,400,000 in a tax credit for "preserving" one of his buildings while tearing down another and gutting a third. The oldest building in this manufacturing complex was torn down and now they want to get a federal subsidy for the rest of their work. And I'm not allowed to tell them no yet, b/c my boss's boss's.... is too worried about what developers think and now a Senator's office has gotten involved. Like it matters what they say. It should only matter if they are doing good preservation- which doesn't include demolition! Ok, enough elitist architectural rambling. I'm just bitter I have to go to work tomorrow :-( and will have to wait all day to be told to do something I could have done today.

Wedding Season

My husband "A" and I went to at least 13 weddings in the past year and a half, not including our own. I have to say, it's been a great way to spend a weekend almost once a month. We had three in September 2007! Thought weddings can be expensive, bridal shower, wedding gifts, new clothes, after parties- they are tons of fun. It's so nice to be able to get together with your closest friends and family and just party. We went to the last wedding of our wedding season this past weekend. No more weddings until November. Including the drinks before the wedding at the bar nearby and drinks back at our house after the 'after party,' I think we partied for almost 12 hours. It was a great way to spend the weekend. I'm almost sad that there aren't any more weddings any time soon. It just means we have to find an excuse to get together to eat, drink, and dance. I'll leave you with some pictures from the wedding. Enjoy!

hello out there......

So, after being convinced by my friend C, I've decided to start my own blog. At least I know I'll have one reader. A more interesting entry to come...once I figure out what anyone might want to know about my life :-)
